Mark S. Piazza, Esq. is a partner in the New York City law firm of Jacobi, Sieghardt, Bousanti, Piazza & Fitzpatrick, P.C. He earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science from Hofstra University, where he was named to the Pi Sigma Alpha National Political Science Honor Society. He received his law degree from Brooklyn Law School in 1989 and is admitted to practice in both New York and New Jersey. In 1996, Mr. Piazza was admitted to practice before the Supreme Court of the United States of America and in 1999 he was admitted to practice before the United States Court of Appeals for the Armed Forces.
Mr. Piazza served as President of the Richmond County Bar Association from 2002-2004 and is a former Chairman of its Civil Court Committee. He has also chaired numerous other committees for the Association and served as a member of its Board of Directors from 1996-2006. In 2005 Mr. Piazza was appointed to a four-year term on the State of New York Grievance Committee for the Second and Eleventh Judicial Districts by the Presiding Justice of the Appellate Division, 2nd Department, Hon. A. Gail Prudenti. He was reappointed to a second four-year term in 2009. In 2004 Mr. Piazza was selected by New York State’s Chief Administrative Judge to serve on Chief Judge Judith S. Kaye’s Commission to Examine Solo and Small Firm Practice. He also volunteers as an arbitrator for the Civil Court of the City of New York’s Small Claims Part and in 1997 was appointed to the Administrative Judge of the Civil Court of the City of New York’s Housing Court Practitioner Committee.
Mr. Piazza has served as an adjunct professor of business law at St. John’s University. He has also served as an instructor in landlord-tenant law for the Richmond County Real Estate Institute and has lectured for the New York Urban League, the New York Public Library, the Staten Island Community Housing Resource Board, Neighborhood Housing Services, Inc. of Staten Island and the Richmond County Bar Association. He has also appeared on television as a guest on several live call-in shows that dealt with the topics of real estate law and landlord-tenant law. Based upon his expertise in the landlord-tenant field, Mr. Piazza has testified numerous times as an expert witness to illuminate the court on specific issues related to the landlord-tenant field.
In May 2006 Mr. Piazza was appointed by the Speaker of the New York City Council to a five-year term as a member of the New York City Campaign Finance Board. He is the second Staten Islander to ever serve on the board. In this role Mr. Piazza helps to oversee the city’s Campaign Finance Program in which a political candidate for New York City office agrees to abide by certain spending limits in return for public matching funds. In 2011, he was appointed to a second five-year term as a member of the New York City Campaign Finance Board.
Mr. Piazza has successfully litigated numerous civil cases with an emphasis in probate law, landlord /tenant law, commercial law and real property law. Most recently he successfully defended a challenge to a will in which for the first time in the history of Richmond County all the objections to probate were dismissed on a motion for summary judgment. Several of his decisions have been reported nationally.
Mr. Piazza is also a member of the Richmond County Bar Association and the New York State Bar Association.
Christopher J. Fitzpatrick, Esq. is a partner in the New York City Law Firm of Jacobi, Sieghardt, Bousanti, Piazza & Fitzpatrick, P.C. He earned a bachelor’s of science degree in political science, summa cum laude, from St. John’s University in 1991. He received his law degree from St. John’s University School of Law in 1994 and is admitted to practice in the States of New York and New Jersey, the United States District Courts for the Eastern and Southern Districts of New York and the District of New Jersey.
Mr. Fitzpatrick served as President of the Richmond County Bar Association from 2014 to 2015 and is a former chairman of its Civil Court Committee, having served in that capacity for a period of 13 years. He has also chaired numerous other committees for the Association, and served as a member of its Board of Directors from 2002 to 2016.
Mr. Fitzpatrick served as an Adjunct Professor of Business Law at St. John’s University, Peter J. Tobin College of Business from 2004 to 2007, 2009, and served as the Faculty Moderator of the St. John’s University, Staten Island Campus, Young Republican’s Club from 2006 to 2007.
Mr. Fitzpatrick is an active member of the Knights of Columbus, Staten Island Council since 2009, and serves as an intramural basketball coach at St. Clare’s Parish in Staten Island.
Mr. Fitzpatrick focuses his practice on landlord-tenant litigation, real property law, complex commercial litigation, probate law and general business law. He has successfully litigated numerous civil cases throughout the courts of New York City. In fact, he litigated a precedent setting real property adverse possession case that resulted in a change in New York State Law for the Appellate Division, 2nd Department.
Anthony J. Bousanti, Esq. is a partner in the New York City Law Firm of Jacobi, Sieghardt, Bousanti, Piazza & Fitzpatrick, P.C. He earned a bachelor’s degree in Economics from Brooklyn College of the City University of New York. He received his law degree from Fordham University in 1974 where he was a member of the Urban Law Journal.
Mr. Bousanti was admitted to practice in the State of New York in 1975. Mr. Bousanti is a long-time member of the Richmond County Bar Association and has served as a member of the Association’s Grievance Committee since 2002. From 1981 to 1999 Mr. Bousanti served as a real estate law instructor at the Richmond County Real Estate Institute.
Mr. Bousanti concentrates his practice on the purchase, sale, acquisition and mortgage financing of residential and commercial real estate holdings. His practice also focuses on estate planning, probate and administration of decedent’s estates. He brings over 40 years of experience to his representation of individuals, business owners, executors, administrators, trustees and beneficiaries.
George A. Sieghardt, Esq. is a partner in the New York City Law Firm of Jacobi, Sieghardt, Bousanti, Piazza & Fitzpatrick, P.C. He earned a bachelor’s degree in Economics from College of the Holy Cross. He received his law degree in 1968 from Fordham University. He was admitted to practice in 1969. He was admitted to practice before the Supreme Court of the United States of America in 1975.
Mr. Sieghardt served as President of the Richmond County Bar Association from 1990 to 1991 and is a former Chairman of its Matrimonial and Continuing Education Committees. He also served as a member of the Association’s Board of Directors from 1976 to 1985. In 1994 Mr. Sieghardt was appointed to a four-year term on the State of New York Grievance Committee for the Second and Eleventh Judicial Districts by the presiding Justice of the Appellate Division, Second Department, Milton Mallen. He was reappointed to a second four-year term in 1998.
Mr. Sieghardt has served as an adjunct professor of law at St. John’s University.
He has also lectured numerous times on all issues of matrimonial and family law for various organizations. From 1983 to 1989, Mr. Sieghardt also served as a member of the New York State Bar Association’s Family Law Section’s Executive Committee.
Mr. Sieghardt concentrates his practice primarily in family law. He provides counsel across all aspects of family law, including prenuptial agreements, separation and divorce proceedings, the distribution of property and other marital assets, spousal and child support, custody and relocation. Mr. Sieghardt represents clients at trial, in mediations and arbitrations and at post judgment modification and enforcement hearings.
Mr. Sieghardt’s experience also encompasses commercial litigation with a focus on real property and business related disputes. He is involved in a variety of charitable activities including serving as a member of the Board of Directors of the Jacques Marchais Museum of Tibetan Art, Past President of the North Central Kiwanis Clubs and former member of the Board of Directors of the YMCA.
